I've heard about sewing a tennis ball to the back of a t-shirt. if they lie on their back (when most snoring occurs), they'll feel uncomfortable and roll over.

hope this helps...

I know that people with chronic snoring have conditions that can be remedied with surgery.

If you go to the doctor, explain your situation. There are a few simple tests that they perform to figure out the best approach for the problem.

And then . . . please take care of it. It can put a lot of stress on relationships. Never mind your partner, just for your own anxiety and embarassment.

I wish I could find something for my boyfriend, after another sleepless night for me, he almost got smothered last night! I actually weighed the pros and cons of smothering him. God knows I had enought time to think about it all last night!

Since my boyfriend refuses to do anything about it, I only have 2 recourses right now.

1. Buy industrial earplugs
2. Revisit the smothering plan.

Good luck.

Snoring are the sounds emanating from a sleeper whose airway passage is partly blocked by the meeting of the tongue or palate above the airway, forcing the sleeper to breathe harder, that can lead to snoring.

Some ways to stop snoring:

1. Always sleep on your side. When you sleep on your back, the relaxed tongue can fall back and partly block the air passage. In this situation, just a change of sleeping position will sort the problem.

2. Keep your weight in check. Overweight people have bigger fatty tissues in the mouth/throat area. This narrows the breathing passageway that can lead to snoring. Exercise and shed some weight.

Honestly there are no home remedies for snoring. If you are tired during the day then you have more going on then just snoring. Get a sleep study done and see if you have disordered breathing. Treatment would be a cpap machine which will stop the snoring and any other breathing disorder you have going on such as apneas or hypopneas. Its a common misconception that only overweight people have this. And you do NOT have to stop breathing to have disordered breathing and be treated. Good luck

PS. the tennis ball in the shirt thing is just ridiculous! all it will do is wake you everytime you move and cause even more tiredness. Dont buy into all that stuff.

I'm also trying to cure my snoring problem....and I thought I was the only one that's sleepy all the time.

There's an ebook author Christian Goodman, who provides an alternative health solution to cure snoring. He doesn't recommend it for sleep apnea, but he has had people write in saying that it has lessened or even cured that.

He claims that it's from weak tongue, jaw and throat muscles and by doing certain exercises you'll be able to strengthen them enough so they won't relax and block your throat during sleep.

I'm personally a little wary of doctors today because you know they're going to either prescribe pills, surgery or a snore machine (whatever makes them the most money).

The ebook isn't free, but clickbank does the payment processing and they always enforce a money back guarantee. I've personally gotten multiple refunds, so you don't really have anything to risk. I'm personally going to purchase it as soon as I have enough money.

Anyway, good luck in your research!

Either buy yourself a better mattress that conforms to your unique body shape (like a Simmons Beautyrest) or buy one of those Tempur-pedic neck pillows. The neck pillows come up to meet the curve of your neck and cradle it. That allows your breathing to be less inhibited.
