Well if I was in your shoes, I would suggest trying natural remedies to help you. There are many things out there to help with sleep/insomnia. If your issue is something like sleep apnea, I would actually suggest seeing a Chiropractor.
For insomnia you can also try homeopathy. Try finding a holistic practitioner in your area.
If you decide that natural therapies aren’t for you, then go see an internist that can lead you to where you need to go. However, their answers will only be in pharmaceutical form.
Good luck!

How can a doctor check the reasons of snoring?

Question by Vincent L: How can a doctor check the reasons of snoring?
Hello,
My friend and me have a problem due to his snore. I really do love him, however it’s incredibly strenous to wake up during night due to the noise he makes. I’m quiet sure, that one’s able to find out the reasons for snoring, yet how is that done and does anyone know how much it costs? I don’t want to switch to the couch, but I’m tired of being awake when all I really want is just to sleep.

Thanks in advance.

Your friend can go to a sleep clinic. He should probably look into his snoring problem because it’s quite possible that he suffers from a condition called sleep apnea which is rather dangerous.

Snoring generally indicates some sort of blockage, often from the tongue. Advise him to sleep on his side and check out a sleep clinic.

You need to see a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders. You then need to go to a sleep disorders clinic to have tests run while you sleep and while you are awake. You might have a condition referred to as hypersomnolence and perhaps Narcolepsy.
