for some people this is normal. since you’ve had the problem for “along time”, you can make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your symptoms.

I have trouble sleeping as well. My best friend has noticed that it gets worse when I drink coffee more. I’m always afraid to take anything because I don’t want to oversleep in the morning. You should go to a health store that sells vitamins and see about taking something more natural than using those over the counter sleep aids.

Q&A: “Seroxat” as a cause for sleeping disorders? help?
Question by Avia: “Seroxat” as a cause for sleeping disorders? help?
hey,
so basically, i’m taking “seroxat” daily cuz i have ocd. i’ve been taking it for a few years, and i had a lot of problems with sleeping for these past few years. so a few months ago i decided to stop taking the meds, and after a month or so the sleeping disorder vanished as i predicted (i always thought it was the seroxat causing it). however the ocd symptoms had risen dramatically as well, so now i started taking it again, and the sleeping disorders started again too.
now, it looks like i’m gonna have to live with the pill, because i definitely feel much better when i’m on it anxiety-wise. but i was wondering if anyone experienced these problems too, and do you have any suggestions as to solving it.
note – my problem with sleeping is actually the falling a sleep part. i just can’t seem to relax my mind a fall asleep. i have to be really really tired to actually fall asleep and that results in sleeping a really long time – over 10 hours at least – due to the tiredness. this way every night i go to sleep later and later and every morning i wake up much later too.
well, thanks a lot in advance

Unfortunately a majority of AD HD meds (seroxat, ritalin etc) are amphetamine based which shares a chemical structure with the street drug ‘speed’. A side effect of amphetamine is that it keeps people awake. The best advice I can give you is to see your GP or doctor.

help with sleeping disorders?
Question by nutsy: help with sleeping disorders?
lately I have been having serious sleeping disorders. they’re are becoming so bad that I normally don’t get sleep till 6 am. as a result I wake late and am unable to sleep early the next day. btw I am a heavy sleeper so no alarm clock can wake me which makes it even harder to wake up early. in addition to that where I live isn’t very safe so I cant go for a jog or something to exhaust myself and get sleep. I really want to stop this and get back to normal .
ANY ADVICE????
I know the cause and have for a long time. its because a few weeks ago I took a night flight and I am not able to sleep on flights so I stayed u all the time in the plane and didn’t sleep till 7 am when I got home that same day I woke up at 2 pm. and ever since then it’s been this way.

In the same boat as you. Its 6 20 here. I am supposed to donate blood today at noon. I can’t sleep,
I am thinking of not sleeping all of tomorrow and then sleeping at 8 or 9 pm. Maybe this will force me to have a good night sleep.
I need to fix it, because starting next week i have to be up by 6:30!
You should try not sleeping for a day. Hope this helps.

need help from people with sleeping disorders?
Question by Mike420a: need help from people with sleeping disorders?
ok so, I am writing a paper for my english class and I decided to do it on sleep and how it affects your life and I need some people who have a sleeping disorder, like hypersomnia, insomnia to tell me some of their experiences and how it affects their daily life, also if you have experienced sleep paralysis I would appreciate it if you told me about your experience, I’d like you to leave your first name only and your age so that I may observe what age sections sleeping problems happen most often and so that I have proof that I did not make any stories. thank you very very much!!

Well I don’t suffer from either of the ones you mentioned. But I DO suffer from sleep apnea. During the night I will actually stop breathing while I am asleep. My wife hears me but hey if I’m gonna die I hope it is in my sleep.
