What are some natural things to help insomnia?
Question by Morgan: What are some natural things to help insomnia?
I have mild insomnia, some weeks I sleep well, and others I can’t get to sleep or stay asleep the whole week. By the way, insomnia is a hereditary condition that technically means “to have trouble sleeping”. I try to get up at the same time, not have caffeine after 3 and I can’t figure out what helps me sleep some weeks and what doesn’t other weeks. What are some good natural (non-sleeping pill) involved things that are known to help insomnia?

Try getting more activities in during the day. Go for evening walks, or jogs even. Get yourself exhausted. I’d also say try meditating, but lots of people think that’s dumb, haha.

Do not mislead your doctors in any way or they may diagnose or treat you wrong.
Counseling can be very beneficial when dealing with depression and insomnia. Your psychologist can help you to identify the source of your depression. Depression can sometimes be caused by insomnia, and sometimes it is the other way around. Your medical doctor will be able to run tests to rule out any imbalances or other conditions which may affect you physically.
Medication can be the best treatment for depression and insomnia. Usually after talking with your psychologist you will be prescribe a medication that will help. Spicy foods, anxiety, worries about work or money, or relationships. You could try to avoid them, but doing some relaxation exercises before bed, or get a good sleep aid to help you. Personally, I used to get insomnia a lot, but then when I went on Zoloft for anxiety, my insomnia went away.
