See insomnia treatments, in section 3, at ezy build, below. Use one of the relaxation methods, in bed, after lights out, on pages 2, 11, 2.c, or 2.i, but they can take some time to learn, (progressive muscular relaxation excepted) so learn and become proficient in their use during the day; an alternative is to use the EFT, in section 53, and pages 2.q, and 2.o, saying to yourself: “Even though I currently have a sleep disorder, I deeply and completely accept myself.” (or choose your own wording) while you use the acupressure tapping. Find out which works best for you, in the daylight hours, so you will be prepared, come bedtime. For many people, a good idea is to develop a set “wind down” routine for the last hour before bedtime, so your unconscious mind learns that it is time to put thinking aside, and prepare for mindfulness, (awareness, without cogitation/purposeful thought) or the EFT, in preparation for sleep, but the idea with mindfulness is to not even think about sleeping: just drift off, naturally, during exercising those techniques. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris ~~~ No daytime napping for more than 20 mns (1, or 2): ALARM! Shower/splash cold water on face.

how to stop snoring
ok, don’t panic — i’m fine. i spent last night at a local hospital’s sleep center. apparently i snore like a freight train, and sometimes stop breathing altogether, so my ENT prescribed a sleep study to see if i have sleep apnea. it was a fascinating experience. the technician was terrific, and before i asked whether i could take pictures, he said, "did you bring your cell phone?" apparently everyone takes pictures. (and why not? i mean, look at me! is that sexsay or WHAT?!?) i was convinced i wouldn’t get any sleep with all the wires and tape and putty in my hair, but sleep i did, and this morning i got to see the charts showing my REM sleep. so. frikkin. cool.

but now i need to shower, get the cement out of my hair, and sleep for reals.

more soon.

Spare And Sublime: A Monastery’s Spell Of ‘Silence’
Patrick Leigh Fermor’s A Time To Keep Silence replicates in style and rhythm the very experience that it seeks to describe. The 95-page book recounts Fermor’s visits to several French monasteries in the 1950s, and writer Adam Haslett found the book draws readers into deep contemplation. He recommends it for our series, You Must Read This.

Aging Well: Help available for sleep struggles

While the occasional poor night’s sleep is inconvenient, chronic sleep disruption can significantly affect people’s quality of life, making it difficult for them to concentrate and cope with stress, increasing their risk of accidents and illness and exacerbating …

Bedroom battles

What’s the most effective way to stop or reduce snoring?

Question by Honora Austyn: What’s the most effective way to stop or reduce snoring?
Any devices that can be purchased on Ebay?

What about that anti-snoring ring, is that any use?

Always sleep on your side. When you sleep on your back, the relaxed tongue can fall back and partly block the air passage. In this situation, just a change of sleeping position will sort the problem.
